How to Print Your JAMB 2026 UTME Result Slip - Complete Step by Step Guide
Your JAMB 2026 UTME result slip is one of the most important documents you will need throughout the entire 2026/2027 admission process. Without it, you cannot register for Post-UTME at most institutions, you cannot complete your CAPS admission processing, and you cannot verify your scores during document screening. If you have checked your result via SMS but have not yet printed your official slip, this guide tells you exactly how to do it - step by step, right now.
What Is the JAMB Result Slip and Why Do You Need It?
The JAMB result slip is an official document generated by JAMB that contains:
- Your full name and passport photograph
- Your JAMB registration number
- Your subject by subject scores for all four UTME subjects
- Your total score
- Your chosen institution and course
- Your examination date, centre, and session details
This document is the official, printed proof of your 2026 UTME performance. It is different from the SMS result you received on your phone - the SMS is a quick check. The result slip is the formal document that institutions require. Most universities and polytechnics will specifically request it during Post-UTME registration, document verification, and at every stage of the admission process right through to matriculation.
Keep multiple printed copies. Do not fold or damage them. Laminating one copy is a good idea if you intend to carry it around frequently.
What Does It Cost to Print the JAMB 2026 Result Slip?
Printing your official result slip through the JAMB eFacility portal attracts a fee of ₦1,500. This payment is made directly through the portal during the printing process. Ensure you have a payment method available - a debit card, bank transfer, or USSD payment option - before you begin the process.
This fee covers the official generation and authentication of your result slip by JAMB's system. It is a one-time payment. Once paid and the slip is generated, you can download and print it as many times as you need from the same session without paying again. However, if you need to reprint at a later date and your session has expired, you may need to log in again and pay again - so print several copies in your first session.
Step by Step - How to Print Your JAMB 2026 Result Slip
Step 1 - Go to the Official JAMB eFacility Portal
Open your internet browser and visit efacility.jamb.gov.ng - this is the only official portal for printing your result slip. Do not use any other website. There are several fake sites that mimic the JAMB portal and charge candidates for documents that are not officially generated by JAMB. If the URL does not begin with efacility.jamb.gov.ng or portal.jamb.gov.ng, close the browser and start again.
Step 2 - Log In With Your Registered Email and Password
Enter the email address and password you used when you registered for the 2026 UTME. On your dashboard, click "Print Result Slip." If you have forgotten your password, click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page and follow the reset instructions sent to your registered email address. If you no longer have access to your registered email, visit the nearest JAMB state or zonal office in person with your registration details.
Step 3 - Select Continue with Payment
Click "Continue with Payment" to proceed to the payment page. Review the payment details carefully before proceeding. Ensure the fee shown is ₦1,500 - if you see any other amount, do not proceed and contact JAMB's support team.
Step 4 - Make Payment
Pay the ₦1,500 fee using your preferred payment method - debit card (Mastercard, Visa, or Verve), bank transfer, or USSD. Ensure your internet connection is stable during the payment process to avoid a failed transaction. If your payment fails but money is deducted from your account, wait 24 hours and check your dashboard again before attempting a second payment - most failed transactions are automatically reversed within this period.
Step 5 - Enter Your Registration Number and Select Examination Year
Enter your JAMB registration number and select 2026 as the examination year. Double-check your registration number carefully before submitting. An incorrect registration number will generate an error or retrieve another candidate's details.
Step 6 - Download and Print Your Result Slip
Your result slip will be generated and displayed on screen as a PDF document. Download and print at least two coloured or black and white copies. Most institutions accept black and white printouts, but keeping at least one colour copy is advisable as it shows your passport photograph more clearly.
If you are using a smartphone and do not have access to a printer, download the PDF and transfer it to a USB drive or send it to yourself via email, then go to the nearest cybercafe with a working printer to print. Do not use Opera Mini - use Chrome, Brave, or another standard browser for best results.
What If the Portal Is Slow or Not Working?
This is one of the most common challenges candidates face. The JAMB eFacility portal experiences very high traffic during peak periods - particularly immediately after results are released and during the days following the policy meeting announcement. If the portal is slow, timing out, or showing errors, here is what to do:
- Try during off-peak hours. The portal is consistently faster between 11pm and 6am when fewer candidates are online. Early morning access between 5am and 7am is often the most reliable window.
- Use a stable internet connection. Mobile data can be unreliable for portal transactions. If possible, use a WiFi connection or broadband internet at a cybercafe.
- Clear your browser cache. Old cached data can cause the portal to display errors. Clear your browser history and cookies before attempting again.
- Try a different browser. If the portal is not loading in one browser, switch to another. Chrome and Firefox are the most reliable options for JAMB's portal.
- Do not make multiple payments. If your payment went through but the slip did not generate, do not pay again immediately. Log out, wait 30 minutes, and log back in - your payment confirmation should be reflected in your dashboard.
You Can Also Print Through the JAMB Slip Printing Portal
In addition to the main eFacility portal, JAMB operates a dedicated slip printing portal at slipsprinting.jamb.gov.ng. This portal is specifically optimised for result slip and examination slip printing and is often less congested than the main eFacility portal during peak periods. If you are experiencing difficulties with efacility.jamb.gov.ng, try accessing slipsprinting.jamb.gov.ng as an alternative.
Important Things to Know Before You Print
- Print multiple copies. You will need your result slip at multiple stages - Post-UTME registration, CAPS processing, departmental screening, hostel allocation, and sometimes even at matriculation. Print at least four copies and store them separately.
- Check for errors immediately. As soon as your slip generates, verify that your name, photograph, registration number, scores, and subject details are all correct. If anything is wrong, do not proceed with using the slip - contact JAMB immediately through their official support channels at efacility.jamb.gov.ng.
- The result slip is not the same as the examination slip. Your examination slip was the document you used to gain entry to your CBT centre on examination day. The result slip is the document that shows your score and is used for admission processing. They are different documents - do not confuse them.
- Laminate one copy. For long-term storage and to protect against wear, laminate at least one copy of your result slip. Schools and institutions sometimes request original-looking copies months after results are released.
- Only use official portals. Any website other than efacility.jamb.gov.ng, portal.jamb.gov.ng, or slipsprinting.jamb.gov.ng that claims to print JAMB result slips is unofficial and potentially fraudulent.
What to Do After Printing Your Result Slip
Printing your result slip is not the end of the process - it is the beginning of the next phase. Here is what you should do immediately after you have your slip in hand:
- Upload your O'Level results to JAMB CAPS at caps.jamb.gov.ng if you have not done so already. This is the single most critical action for admission - without your O'Level results uploaded and verified, your UTME score cannot lead to an admission offer.
- Monitor your CAPS dashboard regularly for admission offers from your chosen institution. Once an offer appears, you must accept it within the stipulated window or it may be withdrawn.
- Begin Post-UTME preparation immediately. Do not wait for your institution to release Post-UTME forms before you start studying. The form release and the examination date come quickly - candidates who prepare in advance consistently outperform those who scramble at the last minute.
- Follow only JAMB's official channels for all updates - jamb.gov.ng, efacility.jamb.gov.ng, and @JAMBHQ on X (formerly Twitter).
